You Are Special

Today in nutrition our teacher read to us the book You Are Special. As my teacher sat up there and read this to us I was so touched. I have read this book before, but today it hit me hard. As Dr. Christensen read us this book he got emotional. He got choked up, and had to pause at times. Maybe this is why it hit me so hard, or maybe it was because I am growing up. I am learning what it means to be truly loved by God. Coming to college has been the best learning and growing experience. Maybe I was so touched by this book this time was because I finally know what it means to feel the love of God. I.am.special. God makes no mistakes. He made us all. He knows us all. We all have purpose. I am here at BYU because God wants me to be here. I live in the ward I live in because He wants me to. I am living this life because He needs me to. Growing up can be hard and sometimes very challenging, but if it means that I will be able to understand more fully how other love me and how I can love others, then bring it on. Knowing who I am has power behind it, and I am so thankful for everything in my life, and for the knowledge that He loves me.

Dates, Soccer, and some people I call my Best Friends

 At FHE last Monday as we were playing an intense game of ultimate spoons, we sole Papa Patty's phone and took this beautiful picture for him. He is one lucky father :)

 On Thursday we had a date. The boys made us Belgian waffles (a cake mix that you just cook in a waffle maker.) Then we put Gram Canyon ice cream on it from the creamy.....Holy dang! They were seriously so amazing! Thank you boys for introducing this amazing food into our lives. Then we watched Anastasia (so we pretty much just talked for a long time.) Thanks for a grand night Austin, Daniel, David, and Griffin.

 Friday brought us to the stake Halloween dance.

 Saturday meant the last lady cougar soccer game! Our soccer team is amazing! I am so proud to have four of you wonderful ladies in my ward. You make us proud :)

Sunday was the queens birthday! Our little SkyeLyn turned 19....oh how the time flys by! We had our 1102 girls over for a big family Sunday dinner. My life would mot be the same without these beautiful ladies, and my life most defiantly would not be the same without with SkyeLyn in it. You are one of my best friends. Like we always say: God knew what he was doing when he made us roommates! We go crazy together, and we always have the best times EVER! You make me want to be a better person. You tell me I am beautiful. You give the most bomb Relief Society lessons ever. I love how sometimes we will sit outside of the JFSB by the water fountain, and have the most deep discussion. We will talk about life, and challenges, and our worries. We will laugh and give each other advise. I love you so much. You help complete me, and I would not be where I am without you. Thank you for giving me courage to be me. Thank you for laughing at my dorky jokes. Thank you for being absolutely amazing in every way. I love you queen :)

It's a Monday....I've Got to do it One More Time

 This past week me and my roommates were feeling awfully "fally" so we decided to make pumpkin chocolate chip cookies.....they are pretty much my favorite ever.

 We went to another black light dance party which was fantastically fun! And Rachel having a dance off with John was pretty much the funniest thing of my life!

 On Saturday Rachel and I went SHOPPING <3 Gosh, this shopping trip was so needed. We had defiantly been deprived for too long. Then we ate at California Pizza Kitchen, and my whole world was complete.

Look at how beautiful Utah is. Seriously, I have never ever in my whole life seen such beautiful leaves changing color. They make me so happy!

But I have to say the highlight of my weekend was our sleepover with dorm 1102! These girls are seriously amazing and they are our new BFFs. We decided we are going to do a sleepover at LEAST once a month. We will drag those heavy mattressesoff our beds and play the fortune telling game, and talk about boy probs, and grow even closer <3
And lets not forget that after getting like 4 hours of sleep we went over to 1102's FHE boys place and they made us breakfast. They had: pancakes, bacon, sausage, donuts, cinnamon roles, muffins, and eggs. Can you say the coolest boys in town!?
And they adopted us into their family <3 love you 1102 kids so much!

Chalk War Monday

So Brooklyn's cousin is in women's choir, and she told her about a chalk war they were going to have. Well we totally wanted to do it, so we showed up and little did we know that they were really filming a commercial for their mens/womans choir concert coming up. So, instead of just throwing chalk at people, we got to film a commercial. The idea of the commercial is that the mens and womans choirs are going to battle against each other. So we painted our faces and "got ready for war." Then they filmed us yelling and getting ready to attack. Then at the very end we all ran at each other with handfuls of chalk and we threw it at each other. So, even though we had to film a commercial to get to be in the chalk war, it was so much fun, and a great experience to be had. And we didn't even have to sing :) gosh, we love byu, and all the crazy things it has to offer. :)

Our group was so fun. I love my ward. They are seriously the best thing ever :)

And it was a very fine weekend indeed!

 Hailey had me and Skyelyn over for PIZZA NIGHT! It was absolutely fantastic, and dang girls, you know how to make some good pizza!

 Ummmmmm, flannel friday? Yes please! Aren't we adorable?

 Skyelyn and I had a date weekend. We went to the creamery to get kids meals (a hamburger, french fries, a small drink, AND ice cream! It's pretty much the best thing ever). Then we went to pizza night, and then we went to "Bernies" black light party. It was crazy fun! Our ward is amazing :)

 HOMECOMING! Yes, Skyelyn and I did go get the free blue pancakes, and yes they were the most delicious pancakes ever!

 Then me and Sam went to Lauren's baby shower. Look how cute Meagan decorated! And the food she made was absolutely wonderful!

 I went to the football game with the Rachels and it was so sad! We were doing so well, and then we totally lost it towards the end...but it's all good, cause we went to get Cafe Rio after :)

And look, we finished decorating our dorm for Halloween! Yay us! We are so cute :)

I LOVE WEEKENDS!! 

Sometimes you need a break

Jeez sometimes you have to go to reviews for your nutrition class so you can do well on your test. And sometimes you have a sociology midterm tomorrow so you have been studying like crazy. And sometimes you have a big essay due, so you have been working on it forever. And sometimes you just need to take a break, because college can be overwhelming. So thank goodness for temples! My roommates and I have decided to go every week on Thursdays....at 5 in the A.M. So you know it will be a challenge, and at times I bet I won't want to get out of bed, but it will be so worth it. Having a temple to close, makes me feel so good, and I know that I need to use this to my advantage and go as often as possible. My Grandpa Lundgren works at the Provo temple every Thursday morning, so we saw him when we went today. When I was done with my baptisms, and was walking out of the font, my grandpa looked me in the eyes and said "Thank you Sara, you make me and your Grandma so  proud." I felt so good. To choose to love the gospel, and live the life I'm living, I know makes them so happy. I am proud to make them proud :)

 

 

And  then I got home and I ate some soup and read my missionary letter. I love you Matt! Mexico city will love you too :)

And now, my break is over, and I have to go finish writing my essay. woohoo

First week of October!

 I started my week (last week) the right way! Orange cinnamon rolls <3

 My roommates and I are beginning the beautiful quote wall!

 We went to Hyrum and Jeremy's football game. It was fun :)

 I found Einstein bagels at Target.....you can say I'm pretty pumped.

 Went to the football game against Utah State, and we won! 6 to 3. And yes we were on ESPN....twice!

 We even got free balloons!! We were very excited :)

To end my week we celebrated this girls birthday. We went to Tucanos....oh my gosh so good! Not only was the food amazing, but the guys that brought the meat around were fun to talk to :) haha But we first walked around the shops at Riverwoods (and took tons of pictures to send to Matt), then we ate, and then we wen to the see the Dark Knight Rises ( best movie ever.) So it was a very fun/eventful/happy week:) And general conference was amazing as usual. And everyone here is freaking about the mission age change. All I can say is I am going to miss every single person going on their mission. Don't get me wrong, I am so excited and proud of them, but I am going to miss this amazing ward so much!

And this week I have four mid-terms and an essay due, so you may shoot me in the face.

The coolest kid in town

This is my best friend Katherine Nielson. She has the most addicting laugh. She can totally pull off a mean leather jacket. She is so smart, and I'm not just saying this, she really is just a genius. She can pull off boy short hair, and still look smokin. She inspires me to be better. She wants to save the world. She is the best friend in the whole world cause I know I can go and talk to her about anything. I love this girl. She makes my heart melt with happiness because she's my best friend, not yours :)
